Rush Limbaugh & Michael Steele Join Tea Party Support & Social Security Institute-Demand GOP Senate Stop ObamaCare by Any Means Possible

Washington, DC (PRWEB) December 10, 2009 – Rush Limbaugh & Michael Steele join Tea Party Support (http://teapartysupport.com) and the Social Security Institute (http://socialsecurityinstitute.com) in demanding the Republican Senators do whatever is necessary, including the use of any parliamentary device available to them, to stop the Reid healthcare bill dead in its tracks.

Rush Limbaugh questioned Senate Minority Leader McConnell’s strategy a few times on his program this week, joining TPS, SSI and a growing chorus of critics who say the Senate GOP leader is aiding Democrats by allowing the chamber to debate and vote on amendments.

Tea Party Support and the Social Security Institute led the efforts to rally the conservative grassroots to demand that Republican Senators stop assisting Harry Reid in ramming ObamaCare through the Senate by year’s end.

As a result the congressional newspaper The Hill and several other news organizations reported that conservative talk show radio host Rush Limbaugh and conservative blogger Erick Erickson are now criticizing Minority Leader Senator McConnell’s (R-KY) and many Senate Republicans for not putting up a strong enough fight to stop the Democratic health-care legislation.

Tea Party Organizer Gerald Merits said, “If McConnell thinks this strategy is a road to victory next year for the Senate GOP, he is not only strategically myopic but does not deserve his leadership position. McConnell is rowing the GOP and the rest of the country up a creek and throwing away the paddle.”

Tea Party Support President Matthew Perdue said of the McConnell strategy, “If this bill passes, it is a fair question to challenge the usefulness of the Republican Party. This bill needs to be killed and it needs to be killed now.”

Limbaugh had said on his show Wednesday:

“The Senate Republican leadership strategy here was flawed because it allowed the Democrats to take the offensive, buy time to work out a deal,” Limbaugh said. “I know a disaster when I see it. And I know that it’s gotta be stopped, and whatever parliamentary steps are available to people ... should have been taken.”

SSI President Larry Hunter said “It doesn’t take 40 Republicans to succeed in stopping the Reid Bill; it doesn’t take 20; it only takes ONE Republican to object each time Harry Reid propounds a unanimous consent agreement to rush another amendment through the process. Senator Jim DeMint has set the example for the GOP to follow.

In a welcome turn of events CBS News is reporting that Republican leader Michael Steele urged GOP Senators in a memo to spend every bit of capital and energy to stop healthcare reform stating, “The Democrats have accused us of trying to delay, stall, slow down and stop this bill. They are right. We do want to delay, stall, slow down and ultimately stop them from experimenting on our nation's health care. And guess what, so do a majority of Americans." Tea Party Support and the Social Security Institute applaud Michael Steele for his principled stand on behalf of the American people.

About Tea Party Support: TPS provides tools and strategies for the Tea Party Movement and is hosting the first National Conservative Symposium in San Antonio, Texas, January 22-24, 2010 at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort. Confirmed keynote speakers are Sarah Palin, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, and Michelle Malkin.

Tea Party Support is currently running a petition campaign (https://teapartysupport.com/secure-donation/i-object-blast-faxes/) demanding the Senate GOP stand firm on principles of fiscal responsibility and individual freedom and fight the Reid Bill tooth and nail. At stake is 1/6th of the U.S. economy.
